Being the youngest son in a family that loves music, Ramy Ayach’s first interest in music started in his hometown of Baakleen in the beautiful mountains of Lebanon.
In January 1996, Ayach decided to participate in the most popular Arabic Television talent competition called, “Studio El Fan”. Hundreds of people tried out for the opportunity to be a finalist on the show, and Ayach impressed the judging committee from the beginning landing him a spot in the finals. From the first appearance on stage, his talent charmed the audience. Ayach earned first place and the gold medal from the judging committee launching him into his career. Ramy’s first song “Bghanneela” became a hit even before the contest was over. This hit track spent eight weeks at the top of the national and International Arabic airplay charts, and it earned Ramy a nomination for Best Song in 1997.
This success was followed by his first album in 1998 “Ra’eh” which became the #1 album in Lebanon. The musical arrangement of Ramy’s songs changed the scope of Arabic music, and it gave him the chance to embark on the first international tour, playing over 50 concerts including his home country of Lebanon, Australia, The UK, Italy, France, Germany, The United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, Egypt, Tunisia, and Syria. After tour, Ramy was in high demand for television appearances and private events.
After the release of his second album, "Moujiza", Ramy Ayach signed with Rotana, the leading record label in the Middle East, before releasing his third album "Wel Ah". The first single off of the album "Shta'tilak" was written and composed by Ramy himself. It occupied #1 on Billboard's National Sales, National Airplay and International Arabic Airplay, followed by the two other hit singles "Sawad Elninny" and "Wel Ah".
In the year 2000 Ayach released the album "Diwan Al Hobb" with the song "Arfeeno", being the #1 single that year. In the following year, he released his highly anticipated fifth album "Albi Mal" with the title track being the first single released. “Allaylo Ya Layla" originally performed by the Legendary Lebanese Artist, Wadii Al Safi was the second single released off of this album. Wadii Al Safi, a former judge on the Studio El Fen committee, personally asked Ramy Ayach to remake this famous track. "Albi Mal", cemented his status as a Professional Pop Star in the Middle-East, and left his mark all around the Arab World. The title track occupied #1 on Billboard's National sales and airplay as well as International Arabic Airplay. It was also nominated for Best Arabic Vocal Performance, Best Pop Song, and Best Video in 2002.
Ramy then released his sixth album, "Ya Misahar Ainy" in 2004 making it his most successful album.
“Habaytak Ana”, was Ayach's seventh album released in December 2006.
Ramy Ayach created what critics described as “The new sound of the Arabic music industry”.
He wrote many of the songs for this album, and gave a powerful vocal performance which won him many awards.
He has certainly set his mark in the Arabic Pop genre of music and his potential is only just being explored. He feels he has just begun his musical career and is looking to become the first Arab cross over artist into the international market. Ayach has recently wrapped up a new tour covering most of the Middle East and Europe & the USA.
A Word from Ramy Ayach:
Music is the heartbeat of life…
To me, it is the sound of flowers dancing in the fields, rain drops falling
to water thirsty land or birds flying above..
Simple examples ...maybe...
But joy, happiness & freedom are also simple words...
Follow your hearts & dreams & enjoy music wherever you find it...
After all, it is the language of the universe...
